But if proper care and some easy home remedies are adopted on time, then the plant not only remains healthy but also gives lots of flowers and abundant pomegranates. Know from an agricultural expert how pomegranate production can be easily increased by keeping some things in mind.
Pomegranate is a fruit which is very beneficial for health. That’s why people definitely plant it in their home gardens and orchards. But pomegranate plants have to face many problems during the winter season. Due to cold, diseases and pests, flowers and small fruits of plants start falling, causing losses. However, if the right measures are taken on time, the plants can be easily saved and the yield is also good.
Agriculture Defense Officer Vijay Kumar told Local 18 that pomegranate is a fruit which is available in almost every season. For this reason, people like to plant it in homes, gardens and orchards. But in extreme cold, pomegranate trees remain fine, but they produce less flowers and fruits. In such a situation, by using some easy methods, the growth of the tree can be increased and flowers and fruits can also be obtained in abundance.
Right amount of sunlight is necessary: Pomegranate trees grow quickly in full sunlight. They can tolerate a little morning or afternoon shade, but they need at least eight hours of direct sunlight to stay healthy. If there is less sunlight then the growth of the plant may stop, the risk of diseases may increase and flowers may not even appear.

Water according to the season: The pomegranate plant has different water requirements in every season. An easy trick is to water only when the soil is completely dry. In winter, watering once a day is enough. Keep in mind that never add too much water, otherwise the roots of the plant start rotting.
Increase the growth of the plant by making liquid fertilizer: Prepare an easy liquid fertilizer for the growth of pomegranate plant like this. First of all, fill water in a big plastic tub or bucket. Break neem cake into small pieces and add it. After this add rotten cow dung in it. This mix helps a lot in increasing the growth of the plant and producing fruits. Mix everything well, cover the bucket and keep it in a sunny place for three days. This fertilizer will be ready after three days.
Mix pesticide in the prepared compost: After three days, foam will start appearing in this mixture. Skim off the foam. Now add Trichoderma insecticide to it. This protects the roots of the plant from rotting. Now pour this solution into the roots of the plant. Give it once every two weeks. Due to this the plant will start bearing lots of flowers and pomegranates.
Pruning and soil care is important: Prune the pomegranate plant from time to time so that dry leaves and twigs are removed and new leaves can emerge. Harrow the soil and add new soil on top. This keeps air flowing in the soil and the roots get enough oxygen. Add two handfuls of vermicompost for strong growth of the plant. If insecticide is needed, mix neem oil in water and spray it. This keeps the plant healthy and safe from pests.
