AI has now started creating fake news itself. A solar company in America has become the victim of one such act of AI. The company has suffered a loss of Rs 200 crore due to false news created by AI. The owner of the company says that if this news is not removed then he will have to stop his work because the customers are losing trust in the company. This is not the first case either. In the last two years, six such cases have been filed in America in which it has been alleged that AI tools spread false and harmful information.
According to a news in The New York Times, customers of Minnesota-based solar company Wolf River Electric in America started canceling contracts indiscriminately last year. When contracts worth 3 lakh 88 thousand dollars were cancelled, the company management was shocked. When he investigated the cancellation of the contract, he came to know that there was a news going on Google in which it was told that the company has reached a settlement with the government in a fraud case. Whereas the reality was that there was no such case against the company.
Demanded Rs 900 crore from Google
The company has tried a lot to get this false news removed from Google, but it was not successful. After getting tired, the company filed a defamation case against Google and got Rs 900 crore. Asked for compensation. At the same time, Google says, ‘Mistakes are possible in new technology. Correction was made as soon as it was found out. But even now in the search related to Wolf River it comes up that the lawsuit against the company is going on.

Company founder Justin Nielsen says that the reputation he built over years was ruined by a false news. If false news is not stopped, the company may be shut down. Six such cases have been filed in America in two years. These allege that AI tools spread false and harmful information.
Who should be held responsible?
The legal question before the courts is who will be responsible if the machine spreads lies? Syracuse University professor Nina Brown says that if the court holds a company responsible for AI lies, many new cases will be opened. In such a situation, companies sensing the danger will compromise before the trial.
