Agricultural scientists of Deoghar say that after the first threshing of wheat, if fertilizers and nutrients are not given at the right time, then the crop starts turning yellow. Therefore, it is necessary to give zinc sulphate along with urea immediately after the first irrigation, so that the germination is good and the yield increases.
Deoghar: Rabi crops are sown in the cold season. Wheat is the most important crop in states like Jharkhand and Bihar. It is produced on a large scale. Sowing, fertilization and irrigation at the right time are very important for good yield of wheat. Farmers work very hard, but if a small mistake is made in the initial period, the crop can be damaged. This may lead to financial loss, hence initial care of wheat is very important. Let us know from the agricultural scientist of Deoghar how to take care of these crops. When to do first irrigation and which fertilizer to apply?
Irrigate wheat in 21 to 25 days
Shaon Chakraborty, an agricultural scientist working at the Agricultural Science Center of Deoghar, said that the first irrigation is done 21 to 25 days after sowing of wheat. At this time, the process of branching out of the crop begins, which is called tillering. The more branches emerge, the more earrings will be formed and the yield will increase. If proper nutrition is not provided at this time, less branches will emerge and the crop will remain weak.
Farmers should not make these mistakes
It is very important to apply urea at the time of first irrigation. Urea contains nitrogen, which is considered the most important fertilizer for plant growth. Due to this, wheat plants remain green, grow faster and a strong stem is formed. Farmers pay attention only to Patwan due to which the wheat crop can be ruined. Due to deficiency of urea, plants become weak and their growth stops.
Spray this fertilizer along with urea
Along with urea, it is equally important to give zinc sulphate. Due to zinc deficiency, wheat leaves start turning yellow, which farmers often mistake for a disease. Actually this is a symptom of zinc deficiency. By giving zinc, the roots of the plants become strong, branches grow well and the crop remains healthy.
Must use fertilizer after weeding
If farmers do not apply urea and zinc at the time of first irrigation, wheat will have less branches. Due to this, fewer bristles will be formed and the grains will remain smaller. Along with this, the leaves will turn yellow and there will be more chances of insects getting affected. Such crops do not yield good yields and the farmer has to suffer losses. Sometimes, excessive yellowing can cause crop damage.
