The Airport Authority of India (AAI) has issued a warning of GPS signal disturbance or signal loss in air routes near Mumbai between 13 and 17 November 2025.
New Delhi. In recent times, pilots flying in the sky have faced the problem of GPS spoofing. Earlier these problems used to occur in border areas. After Delhi, now clouds of technological danger are looming over the sky of Mumbai too. A warning has been issued on air routes near Mumbai between 13 and 17 November 2025 regarding GPS signal disturbance or signal loss, which can mislead the aircraft’s navigation system.
In view of the situation, the Airport Authority of India (AAI) had to issue a warning, so that any accident could be avoided during the flight. This warning has been given after reports of GPS spoofing came near New Delhi.
What is GPS spoofing?
When a GPS signal is tampered with and a fake location is sent, it is called GPS spoofing. This alters the actual navigation data and makes the aircraft’s system think it is somewhere else when in reality it is miles away. The special thing is that in jamming the signal is completely blocked but in spoofing the signal is present, it just gives wrong information.
Companies and common people are also affected
This technology is not limited to aircraft only. Both companies and common people can be affected by this. Its dangers are – incorrect location display of smartphone apps, location-based services malfunctioning and cyber attacks on such networks or infrastructure.
