Garima Rautela was a topper in school
Garima, daughter of Roshan Singh Rautela (former Havildar, 9th Garhwal Rifle) and Maheshwari, was bright since childhood. He had secured 96% marks in 10th and 97% marks in 12th. He also received a scholarship of Rs 3 lakh during his B.Tech in Computer Science from Chandigarh University. After rejecting jobs with lucrative packages from companies like TCS and Tech Mahindra, he got selected in the Navy through technical entry from SSB Bangalore in his first attempt. Garima proved that when courage is high, no destination is far away.
Daughter following father’s footsteps
Garima Rautela’s father Roshan Singh Rautela is a former soldier of the 9th Garhwal Rifle of the army. He served the country for years and is now serving under the Ex-Servicemen Welfare Corporation. Garima Rautela’s family is originally from Pauri Garhwal, Lansdowne, Uttarakhand. But he has been living in Kasampur, Meerut for the last 23 years. Garima Rautela, who grew up in a military background, closely observed her father’s sacrifice and discipline, which inspired her to serve the nation.
Amazing academic talent
Sub-Lieutenant Garima Rautela’s success in the Indian Navy is not just the result of passion, but is also a testament to her academic excellence. He had secured 96% marks in 10th and 97% marks in 12th from Army Public School Cantt. After this, Garima Rautela did B.Tech in Computer Science from Chandigarh University. Then, despite getting selected in TCS and Tech Mahindra on excellent packages, Garima left her comfortable job and chose the difficult path of the army.
Dreams fulfilled in INA
Garima Rautela received commission in the post of Sub-Lieutenant in the passing out parade organized at the Indian Naval Academy. At POP, the parents gave the badge to their daughter with their own hands, which was the proudest moment of their life. According to Garima, the key to success is to focus on the goal and whatever you read, read it with full attention.
