The taste of the beans which have received a patent from the Government of India is completely different from the normal beans. The same taste is absolutely delicious and people feel it tastes like ghee. This bean is full of medicinal properties.

Purnia: Farmer Shashi Bhushan Singh, resident of Ranipatra Chandibari in Purnia district, had prepared black bean seeds himself last year. The seeds prepared by him have now been recognized by the Government of India.

It is clearly written in this certificate that Shashi Bhushan Singh, District Purnia East has declared that the farmer of the crop has developed the plant variety Seed Black Bean (KALA SEM) seed and he is his actual question or legal representative or assignee of the actual question. Now his seed has been completely patented.

Patent received after survey

The same farmer Shashi Bhushan Singh tells Local 18 that he had prepared black bean seeds in his own field. When senior scientist of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dr. Govind Kumar and other officials came and conducted a survey and in 2024, this seed was given to Bhagalpur by Krishi Vigyan Kendra and from there this seed was patented.

Often, for the purification of new seeds, agricultural universities and research centers have been created by the government, where improved seeds are prepared for the farmers. From where it reaches the farmers only after it is patented.

This seed is beneficial for health

Now recognition has also been received from the Government of India. Whereas he said that it is completely different from the taste of normal beans. The taste is also absolutely delicious and people taste like ghee. This bean is full of medicinal properties. This seed always commands a good price in the market. After patenting the black bean seeds made by him, there is a wave of happiness among the farmers of the district. Sanjeev Kumar, Agriculture Advisor of Purnia East region of the district, also congratulated him and praised his farming and his efforts.
