Since the last carnival was held in 2018, tourists and locals were waiting for its resumption. Now in the last week of December 2025, this colorful event is going to give a new shine to the beauty of Sarovar City.
The Tourism Department and the district administration have intensified preparations for the carnival. This time the event is going to be more grand than before, in which along with local artists, many famous Bollywood singers and famous bands are expected to perform. Nainital Hotel and Restaurant Association has proposed to start the carnival from December 23, although the final date is yet to be officially announced.
Festival like atmosphere amidst colorful lights
This three-day winter carnival will immerse the city in festive lights from Christmas to New Year celebrations. Mall road, market and lakeside areas will be decorated with colorful electric strings. Music tunes will echo through speakers throughout the city and the nights will be filled with live performances, dance shows and cultural presentations. He told that in the last years people felt the lack of this festival, hence this time preparations are being made to give it a better form.

Local residents are also very excited about the return of Carnival. According to Tribhuvan Fartyal, this event will prove to be the ‘lifeblood’ of tourism for Nainital. He believes that such programs should be organized at regular intervals so that the economic activities of the city increase and the number of tourists increases even in winter.
