Kangra : The 70 year old wound of the Pong Dam displaced people has once again become green. In the meeting held at Raja Ka Talab of Fatehpur in Kangra district, State Kisan Sabha Secretary and former Theog MLA Rakesh Singha made a big attack on the suffering of the displaced people. Singha said that Pong Dam has killed three generations alive. 339 villages were submerged, 75 thousand acres of land was lost, but justice is still far away. The Mahapanchayat will gather again on December 18 and the issue of displaced people is going to resonate from the Assembly to the Panchayat elections. The assembly will also be surrounded on this.
In this big meeting held at Raja Ka Talab, the Pong Dam displaced people openly expressed their pain and anger that has been going on for decades. Rakesh Singha said that the displaced people have received the punishment which is not given even to criminals. He alleged that Punjab got benefit from the dam, but the real Himachali is still in the dark.

It was decided in the meeting that now a big movement will be launched for the displaced people. Mahapanchayat will be held again at Raja Ka Talab on 18th December. Singha said that farmers and laborers will submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister during the Assembly session on November 26. In the meeting, a convener committee was also formed to strengthen the mass movement.
He said that this struggle will not stop now. We are preparing for a big mass movement by taking all the committees together. From Assembly to Panchayat elections, the voices of Pong Dam displaced people will echo on every platform.
