Patna/Sonpur – Sonpur Fair, famous as Asia’s largest animal fair, is in the headlines this time too for its unique animals. But among all the attractions, the most talked about one is the buffalo whose price itself is leaving people stunned. This buffalo is not an ordinary buffalo, but is of Jafarabadi breed and its name is “Pradhan Ji” – and people are coming to the fair from far and wide to see it. The owner has fixed the price of Pradhan ji at Rs 1 crore. According to Rajesh Kushwaha, son of former head of Gosal Dih Ratnapatti village of Rohtas district, Brahmdev Singh Kushwaha, bids worth more than Rs 50 lakh have been received so far. The buffalo’s stature has also attracted people – its height is more than 5 feet and length is more than 8 feet. Age is only 38 months, but his authority and personality is attracting everyone’s attention in the fair. Pradhan Babu ji is not only worth seeing but is also very popular for breeding. One time breeding cost is Rs 2,000. The owner claims that the buffalo produced from this buffalo breed can give 12 liters of milk in the morning and 12 liters in the evening, i.e. 24 liters of milk a day. Pradhan ji’s worth, height and racial qualities have made him the biggest star of the Sonpur fair. Every person coming to the fair is unable to stop himself from meeting it and taking photos.
