Ranchi. Abhimanyu and Shreya’s love story is much discussed in the capital Ranchi. Actually, Abhimanyu’s back bone was broken in a road accident and he became paralyzed for life. At that time both of them were dating each other and were girlfriend-boyfriend. Abhimanyu told that he had given the option to Shreya to marry someone else. But Shreya said that ‘I will marry you even if you remain in a wheelchair for the rest of your life.’

Both of them got married and today it has been more than 15 years of marriage. They also have two children, who were born through IVF. Even today Abhimanyu is on a wheelchair and Shreya works as a school teacher and runs the household. Shreya tells Local 18 that ‘One night the whole family was coming towards home from the highway in a Scorpio. Suddenly the driver dozed off and a terrible accident occurred.
She further tells that the accident was so horrific that the mother-in-law, father-in-law and husband i.e. Abhimanyu who were sitting in the car were all there, while the driver was driving the car. In this accident, his future mother-in-law and father-in-law died on the spot. Whereas Abhimanyu’s eyes opened directly in the hospital, he was completely injured and even in that condition he was only taking my name. He didn’t remember anything, he was just saying Shreya-Shreya.
Society said leave it
Shreya tells that ‘Society said leave it, you will get more boys than one. But I said that if love is true, it does not give up under any circumstances. What if they are paralyzed by the body, love is above the body. Abhimanyu tells that I had told Shreya that ‘You marry someone else, because now I cannot do anything, I am not worthy of anything. But Shreya said that she will marry you only.
Society gives respect with time
Abhimanyu says that ‘in this condition both of us got married later. Even today I am unable to get up, remain in a wheelchair and can walk a little with a walker. Shreya runs the house and works. I consider myself lucky that I got such a life partner. Shreya tells that the family members also give full support and stand with her in every difficulty, which further increases her courage. Now with time the society has also started looking at us with respect and learns from us.
