Sheohar School closed in Winter: In view of the increasing cold in Sheohar and Sitamarhi, District Magistrate Pratibha Rani has banned studies up to class 8 till 20-21 December 2025. A letter has also been issued regarding this. According to the letter issued, classes above class 9 will run in limited time.
Sitamarhi: In view of the continuously increasing cold and falling temperature in Shivhar district, the district administration has taken a major step as a precautionary measure. Keeping in mind the possible adverse impact on the health and life of children, District Magistrate Pratibha Rani has issued an order under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Defense Code, 2023. According to the order, there will be a complete ban on educational activities from pre-school to class 8 in all government and private schools of the district from December 20, 2025 to December 21, 2025. Anganwadi centers are also included in this.
In the order issued by the District Magistrate, it has been said that the current weather is very sensitive for children.
Classes above class 9 will operate till this time
Due to extreme cold, low temperature and fog, the possibility of children falling ill has increased. In such a situation, this decision has been taken completely keeping in mind the safety of children. Whereas studies above class 9 have not been completely stopped, but instructions have been given to conduct them with caution. According to the order, classes above class 9 can be conducted only between 9:30 am to 4:00 pm.
Along with Shivhar, the severity of cold is continuously increasing in neighboring district Sitamarhi also. There was dense fog throughout the day on Friday, due to which visibility was significantly reduced. It has become difficult to walk on the roads in the morning and evening. Kanakni has increased further due to strong cold wind. In rural areas, people are trying to escape the cold by lighting bonfires, while in cities too the effect of cold is clearly visible.
Cold wave situation will arise
According to the Meteorological Department, the cold may increase further in the coming days, due to which cold wave conditions may arise. In such a situation, this decision from the administration is being considered as a relief for the parents also. A copy of the order has been sent to all Block Education Officers, Child Development Project Officers, Block Development Officers, Police Station Heads, District Education Officers, District Program Officers of ICDS, Sub-Divisional Magistrates and Superintendents of Police for information and necessary action. The administration has also appealed to the people to be careful in the cold weather and take special care of children and the elderly. Avoid leaving the house unnecessarily in the morning and evening. Take special care of children and the elderly.
