Now if an employee leaves the job on Friday and joins another EPF-covered company on Monday, then the intervening Saturday-Sunday or any declared holiday will not be considered as service break.
Earlier such small gaps were considered service breaks, which led to many EDLI death claims being rejected or reduced. This clarification brings great relief to employees and their families and will ensure smooth processing of EDLI claims.
