In Darbhanga, people are getting an experience like Dal Lake of Kashmir during the winter season. Kashmiri Shikara is being run in Digghi Pond in front of the railway station. A 20-minute tour is being conducted for just Rs 500, whereas in Kashmir the same tour costs Rs 1500 to Rs 2000. Crowds of people are gathering here on New Year.

In fact, the Shikara tour, which is considered the identity of Kashmir, has now started in the historical Digghi Pond located just in front of Darbhanga Railway Station.

Mohammad Mehboob, manager of water sports in Digghi Talab, says that Shikara has become the identity of Dal Lake of Kashmir. Everyone wants to go there and take a Shikara tour, but due to high expenses, many people are not able to fulfill this dream. Keeping this in mind, this facility has been started in Darbhanga, so that common people can also enjoy this experience at low cost.

According to Mehboob, at least four people can sit comfortably in a Shikara. Its booking fee has been kept at only Rs 500. In which a Shikara tour is taken for about 20 minutes. If you have been to Kashmir then you would know that one has to pay Rs 1500 to Rs 2000 for a Shikara trip there. In such a situation, this facility is proving to be very economical for the people in Darbhanga.
All kinds of people are having fun
Here, not only families, but couples and people coming on honeymoon trip are also showing great enthusiasm. Water sports management is preparing to make special plans for these people. In future, there is a plan to provide tea and snacks facility in the middle of the pond during Shikara outing. Just like it is seen in Kashmir.
