Mustard cake is an excellent protein source, which plays an important role in maintaining the health of animals during cold weather. Along with proteins, fats and minerals are also found in abundance in it, which provide internal warmth to the animals and thereby strengthen their immunity.
He told that in winter the appetite of animals becomes less than normal, which affects milk production and physical strength. In such a situation, feeding mustard cake increases the appetite of the animals and keeps the digestive system strong. This has a direct impact on the milk-yielding animals, due to which improvement in both the quantity and quality of milk is seen.

He told that the fats present in mustard cake provide extra strength to the body during cold weather. It is especially useful for milch cows and buffaloes. Giving mustard cake in balanced quantity regularly helps in protecting animals from cold and keeps them safe from cold related diseases.
Dr. Mukesh Sinha told that mustard cake is helpful in strengthening bones and muscles. The mineral elements present in it help in the physical growth of animals, it is especially beneficial for calves and weak animals. Weakness and lethargy are often seen in animals during winter, which mustard cake proves to be helpful in removing.
He advised the animal farmers that mustard cake should always be given to the animals in balanced quantity. Giving excessive amounts of cake can cause digestive problems. It is more beneficial to give it mixed with straw, green fodder or grains. So that the animals can get complete nutrition.
He also said that along with mustard cake, it is also important to feed lukewarm water to the animals and provide a clean environment. During cold weather, the cattle herd should be protected from wind and moisture, so that the animals can remain healthy and there is no risk of any kind of disease.
He said that if animal farmers properly include mustard cake in the diet of animals during the winter season, then not only the health of the animals will be better but milk production will increase and the income of the animal farmers will also increase.
