Also being sent for recycling. The fair complex is being kept completely garbage-free by Patna Municipal Corporation.
How was the zero waste fair made?
Let us tell you that lakhs of people are coming to Patna Saras Fair every day which started from 12th December. A large number of people are gathering in the fair for shopping, eating and entertainment. This naturally generates a large amount of waste. Converting this challenge into an opportunity, the Municipal Corporation has made arrangements to separate wet waste and dry waste in the fair premises itself. Also, waste is being collected regularly and sent for processing so that it can be recycled. Organic waste is being disposed of in an eco-friendly manner.
In the past also many events were made zero waste.
Apart from this, the employees of Patna Municipal Corporation are making the shopkeepers, food stall operators and common citizens coming to the fair especially aware about cleanliness. People are being motivated to put wet and dry waste in separate dustbins, not to use plastic and maintain cleanliness. Let us tell you that earlier too, Zero Waste event has been organized by Patna Municipal Corporation on the occasion of Lok Sabha General Election, Sarasmela and Prakash Parv.
