In this direction, IRCTC has started a new initiative, under which traditional and local dishes of different states are being served to the passengers in Vande Bharat Express. Its objective is that the passengers not only reach their destination quickly during the journey, but can also taste the diverse food culture of India and make the journey memorable.
The focus of this new initiative of Indian Railways and IRCTC is to improve the overall experience of passengers, in which special attention has been paid to speed and comfort as well as quality and variety of food. Gujarati food has been given a special place in Mumbai Gandhinagar and Sabarmati Veraval Vande Bharat trains. The menu includes traditional dishes like Methi Thepla and Masala Lauki, which are considered light as well as healthy.
Talking about Eastern India, Odisha’s famous Aloo Phulkobi is being served to the passengers in Howrah Puri Vande Bharat Express. Bengali dishes like Kosha Paneer, Aloo Potol Bhaja and Murgir Jhol are becoming very popular among the passengers in Vande Bharat trains of West Bengal route.
