Gumla: There is continuous improvement in the quality of health services in Gumla district of Jharkhand. Many important initiatives are being taken to strengthen health facilities in the district. In this series, an important step has been taken on the initiative of Deputy Commissioner Prerna Dixit with the aim of providing the benefit of accessible and regular health services to the citizens living in remote and inaccessible areas of Gumla district.
According to the information received, a special initiative has been taken for those areas of the district where at present the distance to the nearest health centers is long. To ensure health services in such areas, ANMs have been deployed in 58 identified areas of the district. For which a monthly calendar has been released.
Under this initiative, CHO, ANM, MPW and other health workers of the concerned areas have been directed to provide health facilities to the common people living in the Pat areas of Bishunpur, Ghaghra, Dumri, Jari and Chainpur blocks of the district. According to the instructions, they will visit the villages of Pat areas at least once every month and provide comprehensive health services to the villagers.
Through health camps, general OPD and medicine distribution, ANC services, vaccination, blood pressure and sugar testing, sickle cell screening, hemoglobin testing will be provided to the villagers. With this, essential services like TB screening, malaria testing, identification of leprosy patients, school health check-up, counselling, cancer screening, awareness programs and Ayushman card making will be provided.
For this, Deputy Commissioner Prerna Dixit herself will monitor regularly. At the same time, daily monitoring will be ensured by the confidential office of the Deputy Commissioner, so that there is no negligence in the implementation of services.
The Deputy Commissioner has appealed to all the citizens of the Pat areas of the district that if ANM or health workers do not visit any area regularly as per the prescribed schedule, then they can directly inform the Deputy Commissioner’s office. Citizens can share information by sending messages on the Deputy Commissioner’s Facebook ID ‘DC Gumla’ or Twitter handle @DCGumla. The aim of the district administration is to ensure that health services reach the remote areas of the district on time and effectively. Also, the health of the citizens improves and they get a better quality of life.
