After this, prepare about 7 kg sugar syrup for 5 kg Amla. While boiling wet Amla, adding lemon juice or citric acid to the water makes Amla soft. After boiling, put the gooseberry in the syrup and keep it soaked for about three days and keep heating the syrup lightly in between, so that the juice gets absorbed into the gooseberry properly.
