Ghee keeps the body warm from inside
AYUSH doctor Dr. Rash Bihari Tiwari explains that cow’s ghee works to keep the body warm from inside and reduces the effect of cold. Drinking ghee regularly gives energy to the elderly. Body weakness goes away and one feels less tired throughout the day. He told that with increasing age the digestive capacity of the elderly starts weakening. This problem becomes more serious in winter, due to which problems like constipation, gas, indigestion and heavy stomach arise. Drinking one spoon of ghee daily provides natural lubrication to the intestines, which makes bowel movement easier and provides relief from constipation. Ghee strengthens the digestive fire and helps in digesting food properly.
Also strengthens the immune system
Ayush doctor said that the good fatty acids present in ghee are helpful in increasing the immunity of the body. There is a higher risk of cold, cough and viral infections in the elderly. In such a situation, ghee gives strength to the body to fight these seasonal diseases. Ghee is also considered beneficial for the elderly suffering from joint pain and arthritis, because it nourishes the bones and joints. Reduces swelling and helps in relieving stiffness. Regular consumption makes it easier to walk and the lifestyle of the elderly remains more active.
It also has a better effect on the skin
Ayush doctor said that ghee also has a positive effect on skin and mental health. In winter, the skin of the elderly becomes extremely dry, which causes problems like itching, burning and skin cracking. Drinking one spoon of ghee daily provides moisture to the skin from within and reduces dryness. In Ayurveda, ghee is also said to be beneficial for the brain. Its consumption is considered helpful in improving memory, reducing mental fatigue and providing relief from stress. He said that but we should keep in mind that ghee should be consumed only in balanced quantity. Drinking excessive amounts of ghee can lead to increased weight and cholesterol. Elderly people who have heart disease, high cholesterol or other serious diseases should definitely consult a doctor before starting to consume ghee.
