Stock Market Update: Sensex-Nifty came with flat start, now investors in cautious mode. Money Live

Indian stock market started trading with flat opening on 17 December 2025. Sensex opened slightly higher but could not sustain the gains and remained rangebound around 84,690.
Nifty 50 was also seen trading below 25,900 at the level of 25,876. A mixed trend was seen in banking stocks, where there was buying in Axis Bank and SBI, while there was pressure on ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank.
Midcap and Smallcap indices showed mild positivity. Global cues remained mixed and overall market sentiment remained cautious due to continuous selling by FIIs.
