Rampur: Revdi Kalan, a village in Shahabad tehsil of Rampur district of Uttar Pradesh, is in the news these days for the hot water coming out of its government taps and hand pumps. Such water comes out from the taps near the Shiva temple of the village, which is much hotter than normal water. According to the local people, this is not a new incident, rather this trend has been going on continuously for about 500 years.
There are four to five government taps installed in the village from Shiv temple to the intersection. Only hot water comes out from all these taps day and night. Pandit Rampal of the village tells that before taking bath with this water, people let it cool for some time and then take bath. According to Pandit Rampal, when the news of this unique hot water spread in the surrounding areas, many teams from Rampur and Sambhal reached the village to investigate.

Officials and experts also tested the water, but till now no concrete reason could be found. During the investigation, it was definitely told that about 60 percent of this water contains elements like diesel oil. At the same time, local farmers say that if this tap water is poured on the crops in the fields, the crops get burnt due to the hot water.
More than 100 people take bath here every day
For this reason this water is not used in agriculture. The village people mainly use this water for bathing. Pandit Rampal says that more than 100 people come here every day to take bath. In these, not only the people of the village but also the devotees coming from far away places participate. People have deep faith in this water.
There is a local belief that bathing in this hot water provides relief from many types of diseases and body pain. According to Pandit Rampal, people reach here from many nearby districts including Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Bareilly. Some people come to see this miracle, while others come with faith and hope for cure. The special thing is that despite being so hot, this water is quite clean and drinkable.
