Make Bihari style mustard greens in no time, taste good as well as health, know how to make it

The taste of green leafy vegetables is different in winter. The most special among these is Sarson Ka Saag, which is not only wonderful in taste but is also very beneficial for health. Sarson ka saag made in Bihari style gives a different taste due to its desi tadka and spices. Let us know how to make it and its benefits.

Benefits of eating mustard greens

immunity booster
Mustard leaves are rich in vitamins A, C and K, which increase immunity in winter.

Rich in fiber and iron
It improves digestion and helps in removing anemia.

beneficial for bones
It contains calcium and phosphorus, which make bones strong.

detoxification
Mustard greens help in removing toxins from the body and keeps the liver healthy.

Material
Mustard leaves – 500 grams
Spinach – 100 grams
Bathua – 50 grams
Onion – 2 medium (finely chopped)
Garlic – 6-7 cloves
Ginger – 1 inch piece
Green chilli – 2-3
Tomato – 2 medium
Mustard oil – 3 tbsp
Salt – as per taste
Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
Corn flour – 2 tbsp

Method of preparation
First of all, wash and chop mustard, spinach and bathua thoroughly.
Add some water to the pressure cooker and boil for 2-3 whistles.
Cool the boiled greens and grind them coarsely in the mixer.
Heat mustard oil in a pan. Add garlic, ginger and green chillies and fry.
Add onion and cook until golden. Then add tomatoes and fry until soft.
Now add red chilli powder and salt in it.
Add ground greens and mix well. Add corn flour so that the saag becomes thick.
Cook on low flame for 15-20 minutes so that the flavors get mixed well.

serving method
Serve Bihari style sarson ka saag with hot corn roti, ghee and pickle. If you add butter on top, the taste will double.

healthy tips
Use only mustard oil, because it keeps the body warm in winter.
If you want, you can increase the flavor by adding some ghee to it.
If you want more spiciness, increase the quantity of green chillies.

Bihari style mustard greens is a superfood of winter. Delicious, nutritious and full of desi tadka. Do try it this weekend and give a healthy surprise to your family.
