Raipur News: Even today in the villages of Chhattisgarh, the morning starts with fields, cattle and a bucket of milk. Animal husbandry along with farming has been a tradition here, but amid inflation and rising costs, it is no longer easy for farmers to depend only on farming. At such a time, the State Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme of Chhattisgarh Government has emerged as a new hope for rural families. This scheme is not only promoting milk production, but is also providing strong support to small farmers and livestock farmers for additional income and self-employment along with farming.,
Very useful for farmers
Additional Deputy Director of Livestock Development Department of Chhattisgarh Government, Dr. P.K. According to Gupta, this scheme is very useful for farmers wishing to start a small scale dairy unit. Under the scheme, facility is being provided to purchase two advanced breed milch animals – cow or buffalo. For this, the total unit cost has been fixed at Rs 1 lakh 40 thousand, so that even farmers with limited resources can take advantage of this scheme.
Provision for attractive grants has been made in the scheme according to social classes. 50 percent grant is being given to the general category beneficiaries, while 66.6 percent grant is being given to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe category. This has made it easier than ever for economically weaker families to start a dairy business.
Proof of unit cost and bank details required
Dr. Gupta said that the scheme can be adopted in two ways. If the beneficiary himself purchases the animals, he can apply under the self-finance scheme. In this situation, proof of unit cost and bank details have to be given along with the application. As soon as this information is received by the concerned bank, the grant amount is deposited directly into the beneficiary’s account. The entire process has been kept simple and transparent so that farmers do not have to visit offices.
The biggest advantage of this scheme is that farmers can easily do dairy work along with their main agricultural work. By selling milk daily, they get regular cash income, which makes it easier to meet household expenses, children’s education and care of animals. Also, by increasing the availability of milk in villages, the nutritional level of families will improve and children will be able to get better nutrition.
The Livestock Development Department believes that the State Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme will significantly increase milk production and create new opportunities for self-employment in rural areas. This scheme is proving to be an important step towards making farmers self-reliant and strengthening the village economy through the establishment of small dairy units.
