Samsung has recently launched its first Tri-Foldable smartphone Galaxy TriFold for sale in select countries. The surprising thing is that despite being very expensive, this phone sold out quickly in many markets. The design of Galaxy TriFold makes it different from other foldable phones. It has a large folding display, flagship hardware and premium build. However, as special as its design is, its maintenance is equally expensive. Especially when the foldable display of the phone gets damaged.
According to reports, the cost of replacing the main foldable display of Samsung Galaxy TriFold is said to be more than $1100, which comes to around ₹99,000 in Indian Rupees. This price is only for the screen, other parts or labor charges may be different. It is clear that this is Samsung’s most expensive display till date.
However, it is a matter of some relief that if the cover screen of the phone gets broken, then repairing it can cost less than $ 100 (about ₹ 9,000). It is much cheaper than the main foldable screen.
Getting screen replacement offer
Keeping in mind its premium users, Samsung is also offering display replacement option with one-time 50% discount. Under this, the user may have to spend around $500 (about ₹ 45,000), which is still a huge amount, but definitely less than the full price.
Only limited units of Galaxy Trifold are being manufactured and currently it has not been launched in India. In such a situation, Indian users may have to wait for this. Overall, the Galaxy TriFold is an example of great technology, but it is important to understand its expensive repair costs before purchasing it.
