Patna: Dense fog is being seen across Bihar for the last several days. This has reduced visibility significantly. The lowest visibility recorded in Gayaji on Sunday was 300 meters. However, now a gradual increase in temperature is being seen. Barring a few districts, the minimum temperature in most of the districts of the state remains above 10 degrees Celsius.
According to meteorologists, there is no forecast of any significant drop in temperature at present. This means that people may get some respite from the cold for the next few days. However, in the last days of December, the temperature is expected to drop once again and the cold will increase.

According to the forecast issued by Bihar Meteorological Service Center, till the morning of 16th December, there is a possibility of moderate to dense fog in some parts of West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Rohtas, Kaimur, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Araria, Kishanganj, Gaya, Aurangabad, Banka and Bhagalpur districts during night and morning hours. Visibility may be reduced due to fog.
There will be no change in temperature
The Meteorological Department has said that the weather will remain dry in most parts of the state till the morning of 17th December. There is no possibility of any major change in the minimum and maximum temperatures in the next three days. This means that at present the possibility of increasing cold is very less. The current weather conditions may continue further.
Cold may increase in the last days of December
According to IMD, a new western disturbance may become active in the Himalayan areas from December 17. However, it is not likely to remain weak. But even after this, western disturbances will continue to arrive. According to the Meteorological Department, there are chances of severe cold in Bihar after December 22. Cold wave and cold day like situation is going to happen. People are going to tremble in the last days of December.
What is the condition of the temperature?
According to the data of Bihar Meteorological Service Center, minimum temperature was recorded at 8.9 degrees in West Champaran, 8.9 degrees in Gaya, 9.1 degrees in Nawada, 9.1 degrees in Rohtas, 9.9 degrees in Saran and 10.9 degrees in Patna. Whereas in many districts including Purnia, Bhagalpur, Katihar, Madhepura and Saharsa, the temperature remained around 10 to 12 degrees. On Sunday, the minimum temperature of a total of 09 districts was recorded at 10°C or less while the minimum temperature of all the remaining 28 districts remained between 10°C and 12.1°C. An increase in day temperature was also seen. The highest maximum temperature of 29.8°C was recorded in Motihari.
