Mau: An important road in Mau district of Uttar Pradesh has become a cause of great trouble for the common people these days. The situation is such that people are taking 25 to 30 minutes to cover the distance which can be covered in just 10 minutes. The main reason for this is the deep and big potholes formed at many places on the road, in which vehicles get stuck and pedestrians are falling and getting injured. Due to this, there is often long traffic jam on the road.
Accidents are happening daily, problems are increasing
Speaking to Local 18, Anil Yadav, village head representative of Makri Gram Sabha, said that this road is a major connectivity route connecting Azamgarh to Gorakhpur and Varanasi Highway. Thousands of vehicles pass through this route every day, but the condition of the road has remained the same over the years. Due to potholes, vehicles get stuck every day and people fall and get injured, which leads to traffic jams. He said that while leaving home, there is a worry whether we will be able to reach our destination on time or not, because it takes up to an hour to cover a distance of half an hour.
Bad conditions despite being a main road
Advocate Abhaydeep said that this road is very important, but due to narrow road and movement of heavy vehicles, there is jam every day. People are getting seriously injured after falling into pits, sometimes even their arms and legs are broken. This problem has been raised with the authorities many times, but till date no concrete solution has been found.

Local resident Santosh Chauhan said that people are continuously getting injured due to huge potholes on the road. This road connects Gorakhpur, Mau and Azamgarh National Highway, on which thousands of vehicles move daily. If the road is not repaired soon, the pedestrians will be forced to take the path of mass agitation.
Local people demand that the administration should get this road repaired as soon as possible, so that people can get relief from jams, accidents and wastage of time.
