Ozempic Cost In India: Ozempic Injection has been launched in India. It will be imported from Denmark. The price of one of its pen devices starts from Rs 2200. Its dosage will have to be taken on the basis of doctor’s consultation.
Ozempic, an injection to control type-2 diabetes, has been launched in India. This injection is famous worldwide for its weight loss effect. Ozempic will be available on the market as ‘Flextouch Pen’ in dosages of 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg and 1 mg.
It is a simple, once-a-week use pen device, starting at Rs 2,200 per week. The company announced here that each pen contains four doses to be taken once a week. However, to control diabetes, a balanced diet and physical activity will be required. Along with this, in some cases insulin may also have to be taken simultaneously. In such a situation, if you are planning to take Ozempic, then consult your doctor first.

A patient taking Ozempic injection will initially be given a dose of 0.25 mg for four weeks, the total cost of which will be Rs 8,800. After this, as per the doctor’s diagnosis, the patient will either move to the next phase, which will be given at a dose of 0.5 mg for at least four weeks, which will cost Rs 10,170, or to the ‘Step’ phase, which will give a dose of 1 mg per week, which will cost Rs 11,175 per month.
Good news for 10 crore people
Citing the World Health Organization’s data for 2023-24, the company said that in India, 101 million i.e. 10 crore 10 lakh (about 11.4 percent of the population) people are suffering from diabetes. The company further said that 136 million people in the country are suffering from prediabetes and 254 million are suffering from moderate obesity, indicating a rapidly growing health challenge that requires effective, evidence-based treatments.
