OpenAI has recently introduced its new model GPT-5.2, which the company is calling the best and most powerful model so far. Just a few days ago, concerns were raised within the company that Google’s new AI growth could reduce their hold. But the company led by Sam Altman has tried to send a message with this new model that they are not going to lag behind the competition. The company says that GPT-5.2 has been specially designed for those professional people and companies who do difficult tasks with the help of AI every day.
The most special thing about GPT-5.2 is that it is much faster than the earlier model and completes office tasks with almost human-like accuracy. It is claimed that whether it is writing code, debugging, preparing Excel sheets, making presentations, analyzing large images or reading documents containing thousands of pages and extracting necessary information from them, this model can now handle all these tasks easily. OpenAI says that “GPT-5.2 is the most capable professional model to date.”
How much time will be left daily?
According to the company, many enterprise users are saving 40 to 60 minutes of time every day. Some heavy duty users reported that their weekly work has reduced to 10 hours. Now after the arrival of GPT-5.2, the work is expected to be done faster. This model not only understands long documents correctly, but also completes complex multi-step workflows without getting lost in the middle.
GPT-5.2 is available in three forms. Instant, Thinking and Pro. Instant is designed for everyday tasks, Thinking is designed for complex, in-depth tasks, and Pro is designed for the highest quality technical tasks. In API it is available as gpt-5.2, gpt-5.2-chat-latest and gpt-5.2-pro.
70.9 percent work like humans
According to OpenAI’s blog, this model was put through a large test called GDPval, which included real tasks from 44 different professions. According to the report, GPT-5.2’s most capable model, i.e. Thinking, proved to be equal to or better than human experts in 70.9 percent of these tasks, which is almost double the score compared to the previous model GPT-5. It also set a new record in the coding test SWE-Bench Pro, and developers acknowledged that it creates 3D interfaces, complex visuals and front-end tasks with greater accuracy than ever before.
can do many things simultaneously
The biggest capability of GPT-5.2 in text processing is its long context capability. The company says that this model can remember the correct information without losing details even in text worth millions of words. In the Tau2 benchmark, it was found to be capable of completing complex multi-step tasks like telecom customer service with 98.7 percent accuracy. Such as changing travel bookings, finding lost luggage, making hotel arrangements and handling medical seat requests. This model can complete all these tasks in a single process.
Not only this, GPT-5.2 can now better understand charts, dashboards, technical diagrams, software interfaces and even low quality images. Its capability has also increased in the field of science and mathematics. It reached more than 92 percent accuracy on graduate-level science problems and set new records on several expert math problems.
Pressure on OpenAI had increased due to Google’s Gemini 3 and Anthropic’s Claude Opus 4. Sam Altman had given a code red message to his staff saying that they would have to focus on improving the quality of the chatbot and other plans should be postponed for the time being. Now with GPT-5.2, OpenAI hopes that users will get more convenience.
