For the first time, Ukraine has attacked Russia’s offshore oil platform in the Caspian Sea with a long-range drone. This mission had never been made public before. According to CNN’s report, sources in Ukraine’s Security Service said, ‘This is the first time that Ukraine has targeted Russia’s oil facility in the Caspian Sea. All the units that fund the Russian war machine are legitimate targets.
This attack is part of Russia’s strategy to increase pressure on big energy companies. In the last few months, Ukraine has intensified attacks on Russian refineries, oil pipelines, terminals and even tankers. Between August and November alone, Ukraine hit 77 Russian energy facilities, almost double the number in the first seven months of the year.
