Himalayan Orange Tourism Patna: There is a lot of enthusiasm among the people of Patna regarding this. This festival, which started from Thursday, will continue till 13 December. Patna. These days the capital Patna is buzzing with the enthusiasm of the people living in the lap of the Himalayas. People dressed in traditional attire have come to participate in the 7th Himalayan Orange Tourism Festival organized in Patna City Centre. Actually, people from rural areas of Himalayan states have participated in this festival with the aim of promoting rural tourism. Here they have brought traditional food, clothes, paintings and especially oranges grown in their areas. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the people of Patna to see them and experience their culture closely. This festival, which started from Thursday, will continue till 13 December. During this time, people will not only be able to buy products from Himalayan villages, but will also get a chance to buy oranges from different states.
People became crazy about the paintings of Himachal’s Chamba
People are liking the traditional painting made by the hands of Jyoti Nath, representing the tourism of Chamba village of Himachal. Paintings, caps and clothes made in Chamba are displayed at his stall. Jyoti Nath told in conversation with Local 18 that people coming here can buy these products made in her village. Regarding the painting, he said that it is called ‘Miniature Painting’, which is the traditional art of Chamba, this painting is made following the story. These artworks of his are attracting special attention of the people in the festival.
Organized for the first time in Bihar
Raj Basu, coordinator of this festival, told Local 18 that the Himalayan Orange Festival is Asia’s largest program dedicated to rural tourism. Till now it was organized in Kolkata, but this time it has been organized in City Center Mall of Patna. Rural people from different states situated in the lap of Himalayas, from Arunachal Pradesh to Himachal Pradesh, have participated in this festival. There are participants from almost all the Himalayan regions including Himachal, Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Manipur, Nepal and Bhutan.
Raj Basu further said that the real identity of rural tourism is orange. He said that orange is not just a fruit for us, but an important symbol of our heritage, our culture and our identity. Every year in this season oranges are cultivated in almost every village. This is the reason why this festival has been named ‘Orange Festival’ with great respect. Here Sikkim’s GI tagged orange is also available to the people.
