These days the administration is very strict in removing encroachments in Muzaffarpur. Regarding the traffic system of the city, DM Subrata Kumar Sen reviewed the Chandwara bridge scheme. He directed to complete the works of Khudiram Bose funeral pyre and Jagannath Mishra College area on time.
Muzaffarpur. In Muzaffarpur district, the district administration seems to be continuously strict and active in the direction of developing infrastructure, smoothening the traffic system and making the city clean, beautiful and well-organized. In this sequence, on Wednesday, District Magistrate Mr. Subrata Kumar Sen conducted a detailed inspection of the Chandwara bridge under construction site and the surrounding areas. During the inspection, he reviewed the progress of the works of both Phase-1 and Phase-2 and gave clear instructions to the concerned departments.
Chandwara bridge is necessary for the traffic system of the city.
The District Magistrate said that the Chandwara bridge project is very important for the traffic system of the city, hence negligence will not be tolerated at any level. He stressed on completing the construction works in a timely and quality manner. During the inspection, instructions were given to speed up the process of land acquisition under Chandwara Bridge Phase-2. Under Phase-2, a total of 11.8218 acres of land from Jail Chowk to Sipahpur (Old H. Darbhanga Road) of five mouzas—Saraiya Chakmustafa alias Sipahpur, Harpur, Damodarpur, Bhagwatipur and Chak Mohabbat—is to be acquired. The District Magistrate directed the District Land Acquisition Officer that the process of notification under Section 19(1) should be completed within a week. Besides, orders were also given for early disposal of the objections lodged by the ryots in Sipahpur area.
The work should be completed at any cost by May 2026
While reviewing the construction work of Khudiram Bose pyre site, the District Magistrate directed the Senior Project Engineer of Bridge Construction Corporation Limited to complete the work by May 2026 under any circumstances. Along with this, the Municipal Corporation was ordered to complete the beautification and structural improvement work in the pyre site and surrounding areas on time.
Emphasis was also laid on expediting the road construction work under Phase-1 of Jagannath Mishra College area. The District Magistrate set a target to start bituminous work by February. District Land Acquisition Officer informed that compensation has been paid to most of the ryots of the land acquired under Phase-1.
Administration is strict about removing encroachment
During the inspection, instructions were also given regarding electric pole shifting. The District Magistrate asked the Electricity Department to prepare the estimate quickly and speed up the process of pole relocation, so that there is no hindrance in the construction work. Apart from this, a strict stance was adopted regarding the increasing encroachment in Chandwara and Akharaghat bridge area. The District Magistrate directed Circle Officer Mushari and Sub-Divisional Officer East to remove the encroachment immediately.
