Today, the eighth day of the winter session of Parliament is expected to be very important and turbulent. On one hand, the discussion on Vande Mataram will continue in the Rajya Sabha, while on the other hand, a heated debate can be seen in the Lok Sabha regarding election reforms and Special Intensive Revision (SIR). Signs of heated argument between the opposition and the ruling party are already clearly visible in both the houses of Parliament.
Home Minister Amit Shah will give an important statement this evening in the discussion on election reforms in the Lok Sabha. According to sources, Amit Shah will present the government’s side in detail on issues related to election reforms implemented in Bihar, Special Revision of Voter List (SIR) and illegal infiltrators. At the same time, the discussion on Vande Mataram will continue in the Rajya Sabha even today. It is believed that BJP President JP Nadda will present his stand on Vande Mataram in the Rajya Sabha around 1 pm.
A lot of uproar was seen on Tuesday over the statement of Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi during the debate on SIR in the Lok Sabha. Rahul Gandhi once again reiterated the allegation of ‘vote theft’ and accused the Election Commission of colluding with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party to ‘influence the elections’. He said that when his government comes to power, the culprits will be punished by changing the law. BJP has strongly retaliated on this statement of Rahul Gandhi. BJP leaders alleged that this statement of Rahul Gandhi is full of arrogance and he is speaking the language of threatening constitutional institutions.
