Job Opportunity in India: There is good news for the youth looking for jobs in the country. CII has said in its recent report that the hiring rate of companies is expected to go above 11 percent in the year 2026.
New Delhi. The year 2026 can prove to be a gift for the youth looking for jobs. If we look at the recent report of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), it is known that the demand for jobs will reach 11 percent next year, due to which the unemployment rate will further reduce in the future. This report states that after a year of sluggish unit-point growth in the country, hiring intentions have returned to double digits at 11 percent. It was 9.75 percent last year, which has been supported by regional expansion.
Digital recruitment platform ‘Tagged’ in collaboration with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has released a report named ‘India Decoding Jobs’ 2026. It has been told that sectors like banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), manufacturing and infrastructure are ready to increase the pace of recruitment. Devashish Sharma, co-founder and chief executive officer (CEO), Tagged, said the resurgence reflects a shift from recovery to reinvention driven by the digital revolution, formalization and regional expansion.
Report prepared on survey of 21 companies
This edition of the report has been prepared based on responses received from more than 300 participants from 21 industries. It presents a data-backed view of India’s jobs and talent story. According to the report, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing the way recruitment is done in organizations. 60 percent of hiring companies use resume screening and 45 percent use interview automation. As a result AI-related skills are now as important in recruitment as in other industries.
Increased demand for digital experts
The report said employers are looking for digital and data experts, artificial intelligence/machine learning engineers and sustainability experts, as well as candidates skilled in technologies such as GenAI, cloud computing and cyber security. The year 2026 will emerge as the year of experienced professionals, as companies are giving priority to mid- and senior-level talents with six to 15 years of experience. The contribution of medium cities in the estimated jobs in the year 2026 can reach 32 percent.
Increasing demand for women employees
In this report prepared by CII, it has been said that now companies are also showing speed in recruiting women employees. According to the report, the recruitment of women is estimated to be 30 percent in the financial year 2026-27, which is in line with the level of 2025 but less than 36 percent in 2024. This shows that the recruitment of women is likely to increase further in the coming times.
