New Delhi. The brave men of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) who went to help the people affected by heavy rains and floods in Sri Lanka have successfully completed their mission. On this occasion, a special program has been organized at Ghaziabad NDRF on 9th December, of which NDRF Director General Piyush Anand will be the chief guest.
The biggest problem after the floods in Sri Lanka was clean drinking water. Thousands of families were forced to drink contaminated water. NDRF carried out intensive cleaning of hundreds of wells day and night, removed mud and dirty water and restored the supply of pure drinking water from water treatment plants. Apart from this, relief material was distributed in the affected villages, medicines and treatment were provided to the sick people and the local administration helped in the rehabilitation work.
The team worked in full coordination with the local administration, health department and other agencies of Sri Lanka. The risk of waterborne diseases had increased a lot, which was reduced to a great extent by the special operation of NDRF. Sri Lankan citizens praised the Indian soldiers and said that ‘these are our true Sagar brothers’. After the completion of the mission, the entire team has returned to India today.
A special program has been organized in Ghaziabad NDRF on 9th December at 11 am, in which these brave soldiers will share their experiences. Who rendered unparalleled service to humanity in the neighboring country. This mission of India has once again proved that in times of trouble, India stands with its neighbors with full strength. Wherever a disaster occurs in the country or abroad, the NDRF team reaches there for rescue. NDRF has so far conducted rescue operations in many countries. In case of disaster, NDRF soldiers act as angels for the people.
