The government has clarified on its official website that many farmers are violating the guidelines under PM Kisan Yojana. The government said names of lakhs of farmers who were ineligible but were receiving benefits have been removed from the list.
The central government has made it clear that farmers who are getting benefits illegally will not be ignored. However, this is good news for the actual beneficiaries. Physical verification of the removed names is being done. After verification, eligible farmers will be able to get the benefits of the scheme again.
Before the date of 21st installment, it is very important to know whether your old installments have also been stopped for the same reason. Let us now know the correct way to check your status, the complete reasons for ineligibility given by the government.
Why did lakhs of farmers become ineligible? The government has given reasons for this. The Central Government has identified the ineligible beneficiaries of PM Kisan Yojana. The process of removing their names from the list has started.
The main reasons why the government has found farmers ineligible are as follows: Land ownership rights: Farmers who acquired land ownership rights after February 1, 2019 are ineligible. Multiple members in the family: Multiple members of the same family (wife, husband, main member, minor children) are receiving benefits. This is illegal as per the guidelines.
A few months ago, the Central Government had revealed in a report that there were major irregularities in the PM Kisan Yojana. The government has identified 29.13 lakh suspected cases, where both husband and wife were receiving PM Kisan installments at the same time. This suspicious information has been sent to all the states and union territories for investigation.
According to a report by Indian Express, 19.4 lakh cases have been investigated so far. Of these, in 18.23 lakh i.e. about 94 percent cases, both husband and wife got the benefit. The government has now declared all of them ineligible. Maximum 9.9 lakh cases have been reported in Uttar Pradesh, followed by 3.75 lakh cases in Rajasthan and 3.04 lakh cases in Jharkhand.
The main objective of PM Kisan Yojana is to provide financial assistance of Rs 6000 per year to the eligible farmers of the country. This amount is deposited directly into the bank account through DBT in three equal installments. According to the rules, the benefit of this scheme can be availed only by wife, husband and minor children of the same family. According to the report, there were 1.76 lakh cases where minor children and other family members were receiving benefits wrongly. Further, investigation revealed that details of previous land owners in 33.34 lakh registrations were incomplete and incorrect.
Do this important work immediately before the release of the 21st installment. All farmers are advised to check their status immediately so that your name is not accidentally removed from the beneficiary list before the release of the 21st installment.
Check whether you are eligible by visiting the “Eligibility Status” section of PM Kisan’s official website pmkisan.gov.in. Go to the “Know Your Status (KYS)” section of the website and check whether your name is in the list or has been deleted. This information can also be available through the mobile app “Kisan Mitra” chatbot.
Eligible farmers included in the doubtful list will also get a chance. Farmers whose names have been removed from the list can apply again if they are eligible. Required documents can be uploaded. This work can be done through mobile from nearby Meeseva centres.
The Central Government has said in its statement that this action taken against the farmers who have been removed from the beneficiary list is temporary, not permanent. Physical verification is mandatory in all doubtful cases. After this process is completed, the names of the actual eligible farmers will be included in the list again. However, names of farmers who received benefits illegally will not be included in the list again.
At present, the government’s focus is on identifying ineligible farmers and improving the list. No official announcement has been made yet regarding the 21st installment. All farmers should be alert. They should check their status regularly. Only then they will not be deprived of the benefits of the next installment.
