Why are schools closed in Maharashtra?
There is news of most schools being closed in Maharashtra today. Due to protests by teacher organizations, a decision has been taken to close schools in the state. Teachers are protesting mainly to get their demands met regarding issues related to Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) and contractual schools. Due to this movement, the functioning of both private and government schools in many parts of the state was affected and they had to remain closed. This protest is being done for the better future of contract teachers and demands related to TET.
Uttarakhand: Respite from terror of Guldar in Pauri
Due to a serious and dangerous situation in Pauri district of Uttarakhand, holiday has been declared in schools and Anganwadi centers. A person was killed by a leopard in Pauri on Thursday. There is an atmosphere of fear in the area after this incident. After this incident, the administration has declared Guldar a man-eater. Keeping the safety of children at the forefront, holiday has been declared in 48 schools and Anganwadi centers of the district till Saturday. Expert teams of the forest department have been deployed to catch or neutralize the henchmen.
