Guatam Adani: Andhra Pradesh has approved the transfer of 480 acres of land in Visakhapatnam and Anakapalle districts to Adani Infra (India) Private Limited. Adani Infra is a partner of Google’s company Raiden Infotech India. Together, both are running a project to build a big data center here.
The ministers of the state government have approved this after the proposal of Raiden Infotech India, the official order of which was issued on 2 December. With the availability of land, the digital infrastructure here will be strengthened in the coming time and technology investment will also get a boost.
87500 crore spent in building data center
The order issued on December 2 said, after carefully examining the proposal, the government and the Council of Ministers approved it in the meeting held on 28/11/2025. According to this, approval is given to transfer 480 acres of land in Visakhapatnam and Anakapalle districts to M/s Adani Infra India) Private Limited.
Raiden Infotech India is investing more than Rs 87,500 crore in the development of data centers across Andhra Pradesh in the first phase. In return, the company will get incentives worth Rs 22,000 crore from the state over time as part of the government’s efforts to promote digital projects.
What did Raiden demand?
According to the government order, Raiden has requested that its notified partners, including Adani Infra, be authorized to avail the incentives earlier promised by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s government for the data center project. Google’s company Raiden Infotech will build a 1 GW AI data center as the main part of this project. The company has identified several ‘Notified Partners’, which include Adani Infra, AdaniConnex India, Adani Power India, Bharti Airtel, Nextra Data and Nextra Vizag (subsidiary of Bharti Airtel).
Raiden has specifically requested that all three parcels of land identified by Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Limited (APIIC) be allotted to Adani Infra as the primary notified partner after completing the survey and handing over possession.
The government order states that the data center will be built on the same standards as those supporting Google’s core services, such as Search, YouTube and Workspace. The planned facility’s 1 GW power consumption is equivalent to Mumbai’s annual power usage.
