Apart from this, India has come to fourth position among the most powerful economies of the world. In 2025, this place has been snatched from Japan and now the country is moving towards becoming the third largest economy in the world. Russia comes at ninth place in this list. Even in difficult circumstances, India’s total GDP is 4.3 trillion dollars, whereas Russia’s GDP is almost half that of India i.e. 2.54 trillion dollars.
How did a blessing become a curse?
Russia’s economy is almost entirely dependent on natural resources, particularly crude oil and gas. Putin’s decision that 60% of the country’s economy gets affected when oil prices fall in the international market. This has a direct impact on the total income of Russia and its GDP falls badly. To increase GDP, Russia needs oil price of $ 80 per barrel, which is not at all possible in the circumstances of war. Other industries like technology and high-value manufacturing are of no use here, due to which Russia’s economy becomes weak.
