Congress MP in Lok Sabha Gowal Padvi demanded to consider tribals as a separate religion. He cited the 1931 census. But this thing upset the social media users. Said, Congress is doing politics of division. After all, what is their intention, does they want to create cultural division?
In the Lok Sabha, Congress MP Gowal Kagada Padvi, while talking about the tribals, made such a demand which enraged the people. Started saying, they are talking about breaking the country. They are conspiring to divide Hindus. Many people even presented historical evidence in detail. In fact, Congress MP Gowal Padvi raised the demand in the House that tribals should be recognized as a ‘separate religion’ instead of being considered ‘Hindu’. For this he cited the British census of 1931. But as soon as this statement came out, people raised questions on the intentions of Congress. The public is asking, has the British policy of ‘divide and rule’ now become the manifesto of the Congress?
Gowal Kagda Padvi said in the Lok Sabha, in 1931, when the country was a slave, the British had counted the tribals separately. His argument is that the culture of the tribals does not fit into any religion, hence they should be given a ‘separate religion code’ in the census, so that they can avoid ‘cultural extinction’. This sounds like a matter of ‘identity’, but conscious users on social media have blown this logic to pieces. People say that this is not a ‘script’ to save the identity, but to fragment the Hindu society.
During the 1931 census when the country was under British rule, the tribal community was counted as a separate category. This category was listed equally with all major religions.
It was said that the distinct social, cultural and spiritual identity of the tribals is not compatible with any other religion.… pic.twitter.com/MTEUN2UoII
