Katihar: Bulldozer action is being taken continuously against encroachers in Bihar. On the lines of UP, now Bihar government is also adopting a strict stance against illegal encroachers. In this series, Katihar Municipal Corporation took major action and completely freed the road by removing the illegal construction done for years on the main road in Dahria Ward No. 38. According to local people, a large part of the main road was occupied by Dayalal Sah’s family, due to which traffic was disrupted for a long time. Road traffic jams had become common and people were facing a lot of trouble.
Strict action taken after warning
It is being told that despite several notices given by the Municipal Corporation, neither the construction was removed nor any satisfactory response was received from the family. In the same area, Jaiprakash Sah had also encroached upon government land by building a house, complaints about which were being raised continuously. When the warnings had no effect, the Municipal Corporation decided to take strict action. At the scheduled time, the Municipal Corporation team reached the spot with the Magistrate, Circle Officer Anshu, police force and bulldozer. Adequate police force was deployed in the area to avoid any untoward incident during the operation. As soon as the bulldozer moved on the illegal construction, a crowd gathered at the spot and people heaved a sigh of relief seeing the road being freed.
Similar action will be taken on occupied government land
Circle Officer Anshu said that this action has been taken on the orders of senior officials. He said that even after issuing notices several times, the illegal construction was not removed, hence bulldozer action was forced. He also made it clear that wherever government land is encroached upon in the city, similar action will continue. This action of Municipal Corporation is considered to be the beginning of anti-encroachment campaign in Katihar. This stand of the administration has sent a clear message that now those who block the city by occupying government land or roads will not be spared under any circumstances.
