Stray Dogs News: What was happening near a small toilet outside the Railway Colony was no less than a fairy tale. A mother had left her newborn child there after giving birth. What the stray dogs did after seeing that child will surprise you too.
It was still dark on a cold December morning. The sound of a child crying was echoing in Swaroopnagar Railway Colony located in Nabadwip, West Bengal. The sun had not even risen yet and most of the people were in the throes of sleep. They felt that some child was restless in some house. But what was happening near a small toilet outside the colony was no less than a fairy tale. There a newborn baby, who was only a few hours old, was lying on the ground. Apparently his mother had abandoned him soon after giving birth.
But that child was not alone. Seven-eight stray dogs were standing around him in a circle. They were neither barking nor moving. Just silently guarding. As if they knew that the safety of this little life now depended only on them. Radha Bhowmik, who lives here, was going towards the toilet at around 5.30 in the morning. First she got scared after seeing the dogs, then when she went closer the ground slipped under her feet.
What did the dogs do after seeing Radha?
The dogs left the path after seeing them. Radha picked up the child in her lap and screamed. According to the report of Times of India, Radha said while crying, ‘The dogs whom we chase and throw stones at every day, have done what many humans do not do. Guarded the child the whole night. If he had not been there, the child might not have survived till morning.
What happened to that child next?
Radha’s niece and daughter-in-law Preeti Bhowmik came running. Taking the child in her lap, she first reached Maheshganj Hospital, then the doctors referred her to Krishnanagar Sadar Hospital. Doctors told that there is no injury on the child, the blood on the head is from birth. The child is completely healthy. Police and Childline team reached the spot. The investigation has started. The child has been sent to the Child Welfare Committee so that his future can be secured. The people of Navadweep are still surprised
The people of the colony are telling each other, ‘The dogs have given an example of humanity. We drive them away calling them dirty, but when humans released the child, they adopted it. An elderly woman said with tearful eyes, ‘God also comes in different forms. Today they came in the form of dogs.
