He started work with only 500 chickens and today he has more than 4000 chickens in his farm. Along with local and foreign breeds, Dilip also rears Kadaknath chicken, which has huge demand in the market. Along with chickens, Dilip also started the business of eggs. Where their cost per hen is around Rs 130. At the same time, he is earning good profit by selling it for Rs 210.
Also inspired many youth of the village
Today Dilip is earning Rs 9 to 10 lakh annually. This success is not just economic but also a sign of self-reliance. Dilip says, “If you have land, dedication and desire to learn, then a big business can be set up in the village too. His hard work not only made him self-reliant but has also inspired many youth of the village.
Demand in many states outside Bihar
Dilip told that he started it from 2020. Initially there were problems regarding keeping good breeds and their maintenance. He started with 500 hens which now has grown to 4000 hens. This hen becomes ready in 45 days. After 4 months, these hens start laying eggs. The demand for these hens is also in Jharkhand and Kolkata.
It costs Rs 130 to prepare one chicken and it is sold for Rs 210. I started this work when I came home during the lockdown. Today one earns Rs 9 to 10 lakh annually.
