Money plant care tips in winter: Money plant has become a plant found in almost every house. Its growth stops in winter, but with proper care it can remain completely green, shiny and fast growing even in this season. Rae Bareli’s Home Science spokesperson Arun Kumar Singh says that with a little care you can increase both the beauty of the house and the lifespan of the plant.
While human skin starts becoming dry in the winter season, plants also suffer the effects of change in weather. Especially the money plant, whose leaves start turning yellow, curling or falling in cold weather. In such a situation, people think that the plant is getting spoiled, but in reality, with proper care, the money plant can be kept completely green even in winter.
Money plant is also considered a powerful air purifier and a plant that gives positive energy, hence it is kept treasured in every house.
Money plant cannot tolerate cold at all. If it is kept directly outside in cold air, its leaves get burnt and the plant starts drying up. In winter, it should be kept in a place inside the house where there is mild warmth and sunlight. Keep in mind that the plant should not be too close to a heater or geyser, otherwise the leaves may become dry and break.

Watering is also very important in winter. Like summer, the mistake of frequent watering causes harm in this season. The soil in the plant dries up late in winter, so do not water until the top 1 inch of soil becomes dry. Excessive watering can cause roots to rot and leaves to turn yellow. If the money plant is kept in water, then keep changing the water every 5-7 days so that the plant does not rot.
Due to lack of nutrients, the leaves of the money plant start becoming dull. Fertilizer should not be given in large quantities in winter, but it is beneficial to give liquid fertilizer like vermiwash or home kitchen waste liquid fertilizer once a month. Due to this, the plant gets immediate nutrition and new shoots emerge faster. Water from potato or banana peels can also be used in money plant.
The green color of the plant also fades due to accumulation of dust. In such a situation, clean the leaves once a week with cotton soaked in lukewarm water. With this the plant will not only look shiny but will also grow better. Don’t be afraid to cut leaves, remove dry or yellow leaves immediately. This causes new growth to occur faster.
