New Delhi. Mission Amanat: Every year thousands of railway passengers’ belongings worth crores of rupees are lost in the train. Getting this item back proves to be a difficult task for the common man. To ease this problem of the passengers, Western Railway has started a new service. It is named ‘Mission Amanat’.
Western Railway has given this information in a tweet. Under Mission Amanat, Railway Protection Force (RPF) will find the lost luggage of railway passengers and will put the photo and description of this luggage on the website of Western Railway. This will make it easier for passengers to identify and retrieve their luggage.

How to find your lost luggage
Passengers will have to visit the website of Western Railway http://wr.indianrailways.gov.in to locate and identify their lost luggage. On this website, you have to click on the tab “Mission Amanat – RPF”. Right here, RPF shares the details of the lost items along with photos under Mission Amanat. If you find your goods on the website, then you can get it by giving proof of the goods being yours.

Goods worth Rs 2.58 crore returned
According to Western Railway, during the year 2021, from January to December, Railway Protection Force of Western Railway zone recovered goods worth Rs 2.58 crore belonging to a total of 1,317 railway passengers and returned them to their rightful owners after due verification. The Railway Protection Force of Western Railway has been providing this service to railway passengers under Operation ‘Mission Amanat’.
