Nainital: Due to entry fee on vehicles in Uttarakhand, it is now putting a burden on the pockets of tourists. In this series, a tourist has tagged CM Pushkar Singh Dhami on social media platform X and expressed his problem regarding the entry fee. The young man tweeted and wrote, ‘Dhami ji, I had come to visit Kainchi Dham and Nainital with my family. But after reaching Nainital we faced a very serious issue. Mall road entry then Rs 300 per car for one time and if I have to go back to Bhimtal then again Rs 300. For two cars, it is Rs 1200 only on Mall Road. Parking above Rs 500 per car. What tourist friendly policy is this? At least keep a time limit or a reasonable charge like Rs 100. The current system is only causing extra burden to the tourists. If this continues then tourist arrivals in Nainital will naturally reduce. I will not recommend Nainital to anyone after this experience. Dhami ji please look into this matter.
People have also given their reaction on this young man’s tweet. One user wrote, ‘Brother, this is a very right step considering the crowd at Kainch Dham.’ Apart from this, a user wrote that considering the condition of the mountains, people should come here less. This amount has been kept only to discourage tourists. A user wrote why do you go by personal car. The high charge is so that tourists can use their personal cars.
Let us tell you that recently the entry fee at the three entry gates of Nainital was increased 172 times, that is, the earlier fee of Rs 110 has now become Rs 300. The municipality is charging Rs 300 from outside vehicles. Regularly its slip is also being cut. Whereas in Nainital district, a fee of Rs 200 will be charged instead of Rs 110 from registered private and commercial vehicles. A few months ago, the municipality had talked about issuing a gazette notification regarding fee collection.
