Mohammad Kaluruddin, a farmer from Baseti in Araria district, told Local 18 that he is cultivating bananas on one acre of land. He says that banana farming involves less cost and the profits are higher. He further says that at present the price of banana in the market ranges from ₹ 40 to ₹ 70 per dozen. The demand for bananas increases during the summer season, due to which farmers earn even better profits. He told that he is planting banana of Tisu plot variety.

Banana crop is ready in 12 months
The farmer told Local 18 that the G-9 banana variety is ready in about 12 months. He further says that his banana is now about 3 months old. This banana will be ready after about 9 months, but along with fertilizer, irrigation twice a month becomes very important in the banana crop.
What should be the land for banana crop?
Selection of soil is very important for banana cultivation. For this, land rich in nutrients should be selected. The land must be tested so that the nutrients lacking in the land can be compensated. Mohammad Kalruddin, a farmer from Araria district, told Local 18 that he does farming on a total of three acres of land.
