Jabalpur. Union Minister VK Singh on allegations of sexual exploitation leveled by wrestlers against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh Sometimes the allegations made by some people are serious, but in some cases the intention behind the allegations is ‘something else’, which needs to be investigated. According to PTI, VK Singh was in Jabalpur on Friday to participate in the ‘Sansad Khel Mahotsav’ (Parliamentarian Sports Festival) organized by Jabalpur MP Rakesh Singh when he was asked by media persons about the wrestlers’ strike in Delhi. The Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways said, ‘Sometimes the allegations are serious and sometimes serious allegations are also made.
He told the reporters present there that sometimes the intention is something else. So go there and see what is behind it. After the government’s assurance, the wrestlers withdrew their protest, after which the standoff between the wrestlers and the WFI ended for the time being. Wrestlers, including Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik and Ravi Dahiya, late on Friday night decided to end their three-day sit-in at Jantar Mantar here after a successful second round of marathon talks with Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur.

The central government has decided to set up an inspection committee to look into the allegations of sexual harassment of women wrestlers by the WFI president. The committee, whose members are yet to be named, will also look after the day-to-day affairs.
