Ten legendary cricketers will be inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame ahead of the World Test Championship final. Six Indian cricketers have been included in this list so far.
New Delhi. The International Cricket Council (ICC) will induct 10 legends from five eras into the ICC Hall of Fame. This will take the number of cricketers to be included in the prestigious list to 103. The world body of cricket on Thursday announced a special edition of the ICC Hall of Fame. He has made this decision before the final of the first World Test Championship (WTC Final 2021). The WTC final will be played between India and New Zealand in Southampton from June 18.
Ten legends who have contributed significantly to Test cricket will be included in this list. At present, a total of 93 cricketers are included in this list. These ten players will include two players from each era. “It is our honor to announce the induction of ten legendary cricketers into the ICC Hall of Fame ahead of the World Test Championship final in Southampton,” ICC Acting Chief Executive Geoff Allardice said in a release.
In this special edition, two players each from five eras will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. These eras include the early cricket era (before 1918), the post-war era (1918–1945), the post-war era (1946–1970), the ODI era (1971–1995) and the modern era (1996–2016). ) Are included. The names of these players will be announced on the ICC digital media channel on 13 June.

The ICC Hall of Fame was started in the year 2009. Bishan Singh Bedi, Kapil Dev and Sunil Gavaskar were included in the first list. Anil Kumble was included in 2015, Rahul Dravid in 2018 and Sachin Tendulkar in 2019. If we talk about the modern era, then Mahendra Singh Dhoni can join the list from India’s side this time.
