New Delhi. The second wave of corona infection may appear to be weakening, but the sound of the third wave has increased everyone’s restlessness. In this era of Corona Pandemic, Vaccine is being seen as the biggest weapon. This is the reason why Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has appealed many times to people to get maximum number of vaccines. However, in the midst of this effort of the government, women are seen far behind in getting the corona vaccine. Of all the people who have been vaccinated in India so far, only 854 women are included in 1000 men. The sex ratio is also being held responsible to a large extent behind this decrease.
In the corona vaccination campaign, fewer women are getting corona vaccine than men in most of the states. Kerala and Chhattisgarh are the only states where more women than men have been vaccinated. In Chhattisgarh, the sex ratio of the adult population is 1,013 females per 1,000 males, but the ratio of females to the vaccinated population is 1,045 females per 1,000 males. Something similar is also seen in Kerala. The sex ratio of adult population in Kerala is 1,126 females per 1000 males, whereas 1,087 females out of 1000 males have got vaccinated.
