Vinod Kumar, an old and famous Sinhora seller of Chhata Bazaar, says that he has been selling Sinhora for the last 30 years and the crowd of Lagan is increasing every year. He says, ‘Singhora is a symbol of respect and good fortune for Hindu religion and married women. It is purchased only once in a lifetime, hence people choose it very carefully. Vinod tells that in our shop there are Sinhora ranging from Rs 51 to Rs 1501 which people buy and take away. People from nearby districts including Muzaffarpur also take the Sinhora here. Around 100 pieces of Sinhora are sold here every day.

Vinod further explains that the biggest feature of Sinhora is its durable material. Generally people like to buy Sinhora made of Gambhar wood because this wood is strong and does not deteriorate over the years. Even after marriage, it remains a symbol of the wedding day and a decoration of the house.

These days, the demand for Sinhoras from Banaras is highest in the umbrella market. Banarasi Sinhora is famous across the country for its traditional carvings and excellent workmanship. But in Muzaffarpur they are made even more attractive. Here special Jadi work is done, which makes it look more attractive. This is the reason why the Sinhora found here has its own identity not only because of its beauty but also because of its design.
